PPWR: Role Defined, Responsibility Taken

As of 12 August 2026, the new EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2025/40, or "PPWR") applies directly in all Member States. It aims to reduce packaging waste across Europe, improve the recyclability of packaging, and assign clearly defined obligations to economic operators along the supply chain.

Schützinger GmbH has closely examined the new requirements and determined its position within the PPWR supply chain. We have identified our respective role for the packaging we are responsible for and implement the resulting requirements of the Regulation accordingly.

Transparency along the supply chain is a core element of responsible business conduct for us. To enable our customers and business partners to obtain information quickly and easily, we provide a general statement on our role under the PPWR. It summarizes our general approach in connection with the Regulation and is available for download as a PDF.
